Half Naked Bug

I spent most of this evening in just my diaper. Mommy allowed this because she says it's a lot easier to clean baby food off of skin than off of clothing. I am starting to like (and wear) food a lot more, which makes Mommy and Daddy very happy. Here's a picture of me chilling with Daddy right after my green bean dinner.

Later in the evening, Mommy took me outside to enjoy the cooler weather we had today. It was so nice in our backyard. I loved listening to the birds sing, dogs bark, lawnmowers mow, and cars honk. There was also some green, prickly stuff on the ground that was a lot of fun to play with! Mommy said it's called grass.

Good thing Mommy doesn't buy designer sunglasses!

Sunday Best

Here I am all ready for Sunday morning worship! Can you believe that my Aunt Di found this dress for me at a thrift store? She actually found several cutie dresses there. She washed, ironed, and put them all on baby hangers before giving them to me. She's such a sweetie!

Mommy made this polka dot bow for me, too! I think she made that known to everyone at the Lighthouse this morning...well, at least everyone who glanced her way. She is so proud of herself.

Last week I told you that Mommy and Daddy have been praying for me to adjust to Sunday morning church life. Well, their prayers were answered today. I was in such a great mood when Mommy picked me up from the nursery. I smiled at everybody, laughed at lots of people, and even let 5 non-Mommy people hold me!

Random Cuteness

This is what Mommy saw on Thurdsay afternoon when she walked into the living room. Daddy knows I love looking outside.

Mommy captured a funny moment on camera here. I think she needs to bring my diaper up a little higher. And practice not saying the "b" word around me...no, not that "b" word!

Auntie snapped this pic of me cracking up in my carseat. I have been in such a great mood this week! Maybe it has something to do with taking a longer nap in the morning.

Wedding Showers

One of Mommy's favorite blogs to read is Kelly's Korner. She loves it because Kelly and her baby girl, Harper, are a lot like Mommy and me. All four of us are learning to do lots of the same things at the same time.

Every week, Kelly asks her readers to blog about and share pictures of one area of their lives. This week's topic is Wedding Showers. Since I will not be having a wedding shower for a long, long, long time I have decided to show some pictures of Mommy and Daddy's wedding showers.

Mommy and Daddy were married a little over 6 years ago...so long ago that Mommy didn't even own a digital camera! Here are a few shower pictures she was able to scan in.

Chocolate cake Michele made for shower hosted by Kimberly Dortch and Donna Cannon.

White cake Michele made for same shower. This was back when Michele was just starting to do cakes...and Mommy still remembers how delicious they were!

Technically, this one's not a wedding shower. This is a picture of Mommy and her bridesmaids (minus Brandi) at a Bridesmaid's Luncheon hosted by Grammy Joy.

My new bow

I am so proud of Mommy! She made this cutie korker bow for me all by herself. She is so excited about making lots more of these for me and my girlfriends.

Momma Bug and Katie Bug

Saturday night we had family over to celebrate Mommy's birthday. Here is a rare picture of me and Mommy together.

Sunday Best

I didn't get to go to church last Sunday because I was at a family reunion in Canada. The reunion was so much fun, but this morning I realized that I really missed not seeing all of my friends at the Lighthouse. Mommy and I were glad to be back there this morning!
Here I am in my Sunday best. This little dress belonged to my Mommy when she was a little girl. She made it a bit more modern by switching the matching bonnet out for my headband and bow.

Mommy has noticed that few of the dresses she wore when she was little have matching bloomers with them. She has to look through the other clothes in my closet to find a pair that will work. Is that because baby girls used to wear tights more often? Mommy thinks so, but she decided not to make me wear those hot things in the middle of a Texas August.

Here is a picture of me playing in the nursery with my friend, Ian. We had a good time together today.

It was Mommy's week to work in the nursery, so I got to play with her, too! She sang songs to us, spoke Bible verses to us, changed our diapers, gave us bottles, and tried to make sure we were happy.

Even though I love my Lighthouse family, Sundays are always hard for me. I'm not very good at napping away from home, so I always miss at least one nap while we are at church. By the time Mommy and Daddy get me from the nursery I am usually a Kate-a-saurus and don't want anyone talking to me. Mommy and Daddy are praying that I adjust to church life soon!

I love straws

Yesterday I went to Chick-Fil-A with Mommy and Auntie. I had so much fun watching the big boys and girls play in the play area. Lots of people stopped me to tell me how cute my bow was, too. It was made by one of the teachers at Mommy's old school, Casee Logan.

After a quick lunch we headed to Ross for a little shopping. I could't hang out there for too long, though, because it was my nap time and I was a sleepy head. When we were headed home to put me to bed, Auntie let me play with her Chick-Fil-A cup. I was even able to suck a little bit of water out of the straw!

When Mommy saw how much fun I had with that straw she decided it was time to let my try out my sippy cup. This is what happened this morning after breakfast when Mommy first gave me the cup:

Then, today at lunch Grandpa let me play with his straw.

And I got to drink from my sippy cup again after we got home and I ate my lunch. Can you tell I'm thinking about being a gymnast?

Drinking straw companies are going to love me!

This week, over at Kelly's Korner, is Show Us Your Life-Baby Showers!!!
Here are a few pictures from my baby showers:

Oh, Canada!

Last Thursday I flew to Canada with Mommy, Poppy, Auntie, Great Aunt Zsa, and Cousin C. We went for a family reunion and to see my Great Nana Pierce. Here is a little overview of the fun I had in Canada:

This was me with Nana on the first day we met. Please keep Nana in your prayers. The day we left, she fell and broke her pelvis.
Poppy helping me do River Dance.

Admiring Aunt Bonnie's garden with my Auntie A.

Poppy reading I'll Love You Forever to Nana. Can you believe she had never heard of this book? Everyone wanted Mommy to read it, but she couldn't do it without crying a river.

I played with the kiddos who live next door to Uncle Doug and Aunt Bonnie. There are 5 of them, and they were so nice to me! Their mommy even let me borrow their toys, pack and play, high chair, and bath ring. This is a picture of me kissing Katelyn...we are name twins!

I had a great time in Canada and can't wait to go back!

My First Ever Balloon

This morning one of Mommy's former co-workers saw me eyeing her pretty yellow balloon. Being the sweetheart that she is, she immediately decided that I needed it! I had so much fun staring and batting at this thing today. Don't worry, though...Mommy knows not to leave me alone with it!

My First Stationary

Look what I got in the mail today. It's my very first personal stationary! My mommy ordered it from Shutterfly with the Pamper's Gifts to Grow points I've earned...so all that waste wasn't really a waste.

Sunday Best

All ready to worship. Now if I could just get that other shoe in my mouth...

Look who's sitting unsupported!

It's me!

Dollar Tree Deal

Look at these great little organizers Mimi found at the Dollar Tree. Mommy likes to use them for my shoes, but they would be great for socks or all of my itty bitty baby supplies.

Happy 6 Monthday to Me!

Can you believe that I am six months old today? Mommy had better start planning my birthday party soon!
Here are some things you should know about me at six months:
I love to creep backwards on my belly
I can sit unsupported for about 20 seconds
I hate naps
I think puppy dogs are hilarious
Here is a video from Saturday night to illustrate that last tidbit. You may notice that I have on one shoe. And that it doesn't match my outfit. Mommy was checking to make sure it still fit. Please forgive her.

Yesterday I played with Mommy's cousin, Candace. She was very nice to me, and even let me chomp on her hands a bit!

Great News

Two sets of Mommy and Daddy's best friends just recently announced some great news. Can you guess what it is? I'll give you a hint (look at Ryan's shirt).

That's right. Michele and Ryan are expecting a baby in mid-March. Congratulations, you two!

And look who else is cooking up a compadre for me.

Congratulations to Brandi and Adam, as well. Their little one should be arriving in early February...right around my 1st birthday!
Mommy and Daddy are so glad that both of these couples have gone public with their good news. Their hands were getting tired of holding onto their tongues.

Sunday Best

Every Sunday, Mommy and Daddy take me to Lighthouse Church where we meet with other believers to worship the Lord.

Mommy loves dressing me up to go to church! Here's a glimpse of this morning's outfit.

And a pic of me chomping on my nummy shoe.
