How Would You Respond?

Yesterday, Mommy was walking out of a Target store.  When she entered the crosswalk, she casually observed a car at the nearby stop sign.  There was some pretty loud music coming from the car, but Mommy didn't give it a second thought until she the driver of the car yell, "That's right B****, you heard the music!" in her direction.

Mommy ignored the comment and kept walking...but as soon as she got into her car she wished she had said something to the un-gentleman driver.  Thankfully, I wasn't around to hear such rudeness.  Mommy knows that won't always be the case, though.

Mommy is wondering how she could have responded that would have:
A. Let the driver know she was offended.
B. Shown me that women shouldn't be talked to that way.
C. Not further exacerbated the situation.

Any ideas?

Hmm... I probably would have just ignored it too, or shot a stern "excuse me?" expression his way. But now that I think about it, calling the driver out on his behavior might have embarrassed him enough to realize he can't get away with that sort of thing.

Imagine walking up to his window and saying politely, "I'm sorry sir, what was that you said?" He probably wouldn't have the nerve to repeat it once his relative-anonymity was busted.

I wouldn't have said anything back, obviously if this guy was rude enough to yell profanities at you, he could easily get violent. I think you were right in ignoring him. Obviously he has issues he needs to deal with. I'm sorry that happened, you do not deserve that treatment!

You did the right thing, I wouldn't have said anything either. People are just crazy now days, kind of sad....

Personally, I would have given him a big goofy smile and waved. :-)

I wouldn't have said anything. If he was already yelling profanities at you then God only knows what his reaction would have been if you said, or did, something. People are crazy and go 'off the deep end' easy unfortunately. I'd rather be safe than sorry

I'm SO sorry this happened!
