Big (Mis)Adventure

This afternoon Mommy decided that she and Daddy should take me on a walk. There was a nice breeze outside, the sun was shining, and I now have enough head control to sit in my stroller without my carseat. The walk started out great. I've always loved being outside, and now that I can look out instead of up I love it even more! We walked around the block twice and then decided it was time to head back to the air conditioning.

When we got back to the house, Mommy and Daddy realized we were locked out. Normally we would have just called one of my grandparents to bring over a spare key, but all of them are out of town right now! Daddy had to ride his scooter over to the Grands' house (b/c the car keys were locked inside the house) to get their spare.

In the meantime, Mommy noticed that I was getting really hot and was in need of some AC. She started knocking on neighbors doors until she found some who were home. They were kind enough to let us stay with them until Daddy made it back. They even let me play with their grandkids' toys!

Moral of the story: make sure Mommy and Daddy have their keys.

The "Happy Birthday" song can be kind of overwhelming when you're only 4 months old!

Swim Time

Today we went swimming with my cousins to celebrate all of the April, May, and June birthdays in our family. It was my first experience in the pool, and the jury is still out on whether I really liked it or not. I definitely enjoyed all the attention I got from my family, though!

In honor of my first swim I went through all 3 of my bathing suits today. First, my mommy put me in my navy suit with a polka-dot cover up. I'm already a bit too long for that one, though, and it was cutting into my shoulders. She quickly took it off and put on my flowered bubble suit instead.

Unfortunately, I had a blowout in the Target parking lot while wearing that one! It got all over my cutie suit and my carseat...so Mommy, Daddy, and Auntie had to take me back home and do some fast recovery work. Daddy rescued my carseat while Auntie and Mommy cleaned me up and put me in suit #3 (thanks Aunt Michele and Uncle Ryan!). Good thing I have so many bathing suit choices!

4 month checkup

At my 4 month check up today I found out I am in the 95th percentile for length! Maybe I have a future in volleyball or modeling. My pediatrician also told Mommy and Daddy that they could start putting me in my Jumperoo since I have big girl head control now. As you can see from this video, I was even less impressed with the Jumperoo than I was with Monday night's slide.

My Second Picnic Ever

Monday night Mommy and Daddy took me to the park for my second picnic. I had fun watching Grandpa eat his chips and laughing at Poppy's funny faces. My daddy took me down a slide, too, but I wasn't too impressed with that...maybe in a few months.

Copy Cat

On Wednesday my Auntie came over to my Grandma and Grandpa's house to see me for her birthday. She was making funny noises at me and I was trying my best to make them right back at her. By the time mommy grabbed the camera, I was all noised out. She did manage to get one copy cat moment recorded.

Watch Me Grow!

I had my 4 month birthday on Thursday. Even though our AC still wasn't working, mommy just had to run me by the house in the morning (before it got hot) for my monthly brown chair photo shoot. I sure have changed a lot since March!

My mommy, daddy, and I have temporarily relocated to my Grandma and Grandpa's house. This change of scene occured immediately after my parents discovered our air conditioner was blowing hot air all over our house. I don't know how long we'll be here, but I sure do appreciate the Grands letting me fill their home up with my Pack and Play, bouncy seat, playmat, bathtub, Boppy, diapers, clothes, and pump (okay, that one's not really mine)!
